Poem: Van Gogh Sky Scape by Mark Tulin

Many thanks to Magnolia Review for first publishing an earlier version of this poem.

A Van Gogh Skyscape
By Mark Tulin

I wake up to an epiphany of beauty,
a January in Santa Barbara,
as if the ocean was up high,
a flowing sea of fire,
a colorful Van Gogh skyscape,
a burning masterpiece,
radiant in its bounty,
our world rotating on its axis
a spinning kaleidoscopic globe,
awakening adventurous souls,
lit up by a glorious Sun God
in all its universal splendor—
its patches of emotional grays,
bold reds, and mystical blues.
