MARY IN THE GARDEN
written by: Mark Tulin
Mary stands in front of the fountain,
a white statue of dignity and honor,
for squirrels to climb,
the crows and Blue Jays to perch,
a quiet shelter for the silence of the night.
Mother Mary is in my imagination,
a part of my everlasting soul.
She has always meant more
than the cement and resin
that stands patiently with hands open
to receive our blessings.
The rose bush rubs against her face,
fragrant with thorns and petals.
She feels the California sunshine,
an occasional coastal breeze,
and the sound of music
that plays from the kitchen window.
Beautifully crafted, Mark.
Thank you, Bojana. I hope you’re doing well and things are not as bad as California.
Over 80, 000, Mark. What can I say? We’re locked.
Stay safe.

Thank you, Anne. 🙂
I had the same reaction of peace and comfort upon reading the poem, particularly the last stanza.
Glad. ☮️🙂
Sweet and peaceful.
The Beatles were really in tune with Mother Mary.
