SMOKE WITHOUT A SOUL
Mark Tulin
Your toughness and strength are impressive,
yet fall like ashes from a menthol cigarette.
They burn out into the last puff,
evaporate into the airy past,
like smoke without a soul.
If only you didn't take life so seriously,
those random pitfalls
would be ignored.
If only you went with the flow,
perhaps your breath would taste sweeter
and not so stale.

Great contribution, Mark.
Thank you, Bojana.
Excellent poetry.
Thank you. 🙂
Brilliant matching of images and words!
Thank you, JT
Excellent response to the photo prompt! (This is the first time I’ve seen a Gibson Girl with a cigarette hanging out of her mouth.)
Yeah, and a sad one.
Yes, very sad.
What a great way to match the picture, Mark. But so sad.
A kind of appealing sad.
