The Ex-Employee, by Mark Tulin

“I gave the best years of my life to that company," said Simon to his former co-worker. "I slaved for them for fifteen years. I gave my body, mind, and soul to that job, dealing with one crisis after another. And you'd think that they would give me a farewell party.”
“Simon, they fired you," said the co-worker. "They couldn’t stand your attitude. You came to work late every day with a chip on your shoulder. They couldn’t wait to get rid of you. I’m surprised you lasted that long.”
“Well, even so. I deserve at least a gold watch.”

My kinda guy.
🙂🙂👌🏻
Ha! I liked the last line re: the gold watch. Perfect for someone like that.
Thank you, Ruth.

you’re welcome.
I would like to know the boss’s side of this story. °°🐟🐟~~
When I get inspired, I’ll let you know. Good swimming, Mermaid. 😊😊
It is nice to learn it is fiction. But there are a lot if realities here.😕☕😊
very true. 🙂
Ahem, it’s a good thing that hasn’t been the case around here! As high of a turn-over that’s been experienced here, many of the team members are reluctant to go. They leave for better opportunities for themselves or closer vicinity to their loved ones. Thankfully this hasn’t happened in my years of experience.
You’re lucky. Must be a good working environment.
I like the funny ending 😊
Thank you, Judy.
You’re welcome, Mark.
