Author of the Month. Spillwords

I rarely win anything. Once in a while, I get lucky. I won an umbrella from the YMCA for writing about how much I enjoyed going there. I found twenty dollars at the Baltimore Harbor. I was Drabble of the Year, even though I didn’t find out until years later. I’ve had a couple of runners-up in poetry contests, but overall, my luck at winning hasn’t been great. Of course, I don’t enter contests, play the lottery, go to casinos, or place bets. But if you have time, vote for me at Spillwords’ Author of the Month. If I win, I’ll tell my wife, and she’ll be happy that I actually won something.

Sometimes writing a poem feels a lot like etching my verse on the walls of a cave.

I am an author, poet, humorist, and short story writer living in Long Beach, California. I write about various topics, from my early childhood in Philadelphia to my years as a family therapist and finally to my soul-searching in California. These are poetic narratives that may have humorous or serious content or both. Either way, I hope my poetry and stories resonate with you. My books include Magical Yogis, Uncommon Love Stories, Awkward Grace, Junkyard Souls, and Rain on Cabrillo.
