Spiritual Respiration by Mark Tulin

I don’t have much control

but I do have my faith

I deal with the chaos

by relying on faith’s words

of wisdom

I may not avoid mortality

but I can slow down my life,

with one, long, eternal breath

In the morning, I wake up

to a spiritual respiration,

feeling its airy nature breathe through me,

allowing the stickiness to release,

the resistance to let go

When my feelings are sad and heavy,

I look to my spiritual partner

to break my emotional tumble

Together, we can pray our way

out of almost any struggle

without solving a single problem.
