Longing, by Mark Tulin
12/6/2020
Charles complained about how lonely he was. He pined for a girlfriend, someone who he could come home to after work. His friends had either been married or had girlfriends. He longed for someone, too.
He tried and tried. He went on dating sites, blind dates, socials, and tried to pick up girls at dance clubs. When he stopped looking, that’s when it happened. He met a young woman at a church bible study and instantly fell in love.
While Charles found his life partner, his friends were not pleased. They liked Charles better when he was miserable and single.

Single ones becoming jealous. 😀
Nice story.
yes, misery also loves company.
True.
Sounds more like his friends had fallen into a rot and are now envious of his newfound love life.
Yes and yes. When you’re used to someone being one way and they change, it’s difficult to accept.
This is excellent.
Thank you. 🙂🙂

I know it isn’t funny but this story made me smile because it is SO TRUE! That is just what people are like!
You’re right, Anne. I was thinking of two people in particular whose luck had changed, and then victimized by their best friends. 🙂🙂
I really like Your story….and am head over heels in love with the picture You chose. Brilliant! Thank You, Mark! Cheers!!! 🙂
Thank you times 2. 🙂🙂😎
My pleasure, squared! 😊
🙂
reminds me of that Skyhooks’ song: ‘All My Friends are Getting Married’ 🙂
Have to listen to that, John. 🙂
A sad bunch of friends for Charles, but the story rings with truth.
Thanks Dave. 🙂
