Essay: Charles Bukowski: The Blue Collar Literary Genius by Mark Tulin

Published in HubPages. Doodle by Mark Tulin.

"He came from an abusive home, became an alcoholic, and said some unflattering things about both genders in his writings and during interviews. As for his appearance--he didn't dress well, had terrible skin, and a beer belly. But despite his many flaws and hardships, no one can deny his talent for writing compelling poetry and prose. He influenced a whole generation of writers with his transgressive and confessional writing style."
