“I can’t write like Mark Twain because I’m not him,” I replied. “I’m Mark Tulin—the same amount of letters, but a different person. And besides, Mark Twain said the n-word two-hundred times in Adventures of Huckleberry Finn. So he’s not someone to emulate.” –excerpt from “On Receiving Unwanted Literary Advice.”

I am an author, poet, humorist, and short story writer living in Long Beach, California. I write about various topics, from my early childhood in Philadelphia to my years as a family therapist and finally to my soul-searching in California. These are poetic narratives that may have humorous or serious content or both. Either way, I hope my poetry and stories resonate with you. My books include Magical Yogis, Uncommon Love Stories, Awkward Grace, Junkyard Souls, and Rain on Cabrillo.

Unwanted literary advice is the pits. Makes me want to get supercilious on their ***.

People who have no clue on writing or are frustrated writers are vulnerable to dumping on others I find. May the fleas of a million camels infest them.
