Mary and Ellen were in a romantic fantasy, a profound love that they’ve never experienced before. It made them feel weightless and indestructible, to soar above buildings, all the way into the upper hemisphere. Their love was more than being in a parallel universe; it was several universes combined. A journey of Kerouacian freedom and transcendence, creating their unique laws of nature and motion. It was as though they were two brides in a Marc Chagall painting, surrounded by a collection of Jungian symbolism, hoping their love would become immortal, even after the effects of the magic mushrooms wore off.
