Snowballs for Santa, by Mark Tulin
10/12/2018
Whenever I’m asked why I threw the snowball at Santa in ‘68, I tell them the truth. It was twenty-below and Franklin Field was full of snow. The Eagles were losing another one.
But that’s not the main reason.
This skinny dude with a scraggly beard was dragged from the stands to be a stand-in for Santa. First, we had a lousy football team, then the Eagles sent out a Santa imposter who’s half-drunk during a halftime parade. Of course, I’m going to throw a snowball at him.
I did it in the spirit of Christmas.

Haha!! Awesome. No one wants a drunk Santa.
exactly. 🎅🏻
I think you need to come south and throw a few at the Panthers who have lost six in a row! Maybe a shot at Cam Newton… His hats would make a great target!
That would be nice. A big head equals a big hat, I guess. By the way, that year, the Eagles lost 11 in a row and had the worst coach in their history. The Panthers aren’t nearly that bad. Keep believing. 🏈🏈
Thanks that is encouraging!!
🎅🏻🎅🏻
Why I threw the snowball at Santa?
Well, Santa was missing one fluffy white button on his vest – so I gave him one.
That’s a good reason, too, Eric. 🎅🏻
I think you were left with no choice💁🏻♀️
We can’t have a drunken santa. 🎅🏻
lol,no but believe me I saw one once in grotto for kids😱
E-A-G-L-E-S EAGLES!!!!!!! As a displaced Philly boy, this touched my heart. 🙂
Thank you, Ryan. I’m displaced as well. 🎅🎅
