FREE AND UNHARNESSED
Mark Tulin

The legend
in sculptured stone,

married to the universe,

grazes among goddesses

I remember
his soul,

riding freedom,

on a rainbow track,

out of Rhiannon's stable,

uncontained, a stallion,

running with wild horses,

free and unharnessed

There is truth in this steed,

as pure Kentucky bluegrass—

saddle up

make it over the fence

good boy

you’re going to last.
