Audio Poem: Sea of Row Homes by Mark Tulin

The poem was written several years ago and the print version is still on this site. I grew up in Philly back in the sixties and seventies. And I had many friends and family members who lived in a similar style of home. This is a tribute to their warm and comfy homes and the proud people of Northeast Philadelphia. I am an author, poet, humorist, and short story writer from Palm Springs, California. I write about various topics, from my early childhood in Philadelphia to my years as a family therapist and finally to my soul-searching in California. These are poetic narratives that may have humorous or serious content or both. Either way, I hope my poetry and stories resonate with you.

  1. Adsolutely wonderful Mark … there I was only 2 years ago visiting my cousins in northeast Philadelpia area(Tackawanna st), … and there mother’s(my aunty) original home was in the ‘Fishtown’ area …. Your beautifully read poem perfectly describe the houses and the friendly people of the area … well done Mark, and I’m forwarding this post onto my cousins…

  2. These houses look so English to me!
