THE HOPEFUL MIND
written by: Mark Tulin
It’s the hopeful mind
I’m trying to find,
the one that doesn’t slip
through my fingers
or fade with change,
but stays in place
during trying times.
I’m not looking for anything
special or fancy
to celebrate a good fortune,
nor the serious kind
that weighs a person down.
A flickering light would be fine,
an optimistic sign,
a slight bend in the road
that says that something positive
is not far away.
I want a little hope,
a gift of promise,
a chance to find,
a gentle tap on the shoulder
in the comfort of an easy chair.

EXACTLY what I’m feeling these days!!! What happened to my secure footing? To the stalwart me whom I thought I knew so well? Thank you, all over again, Mark, for finding the words that resonate so beautifully.
Thank you, Martha. Hope is in short supply lately. We might have to consciously search for it. 🙂🙂☮️
Well said, Martha!
Indeed, a sign however small, some goodness! Hope is all we need.
That was beautiful, Mark! Thank You! 🙂
You’re welcome.
😊
I want that too. We’re not asking much, are we?
No we’re not, Bojana. 🙂
We could all do well with some of that “little hope” that you describe so beautifully.
Yes we could. 🙂🙂
