Poem: Cliché by Mark Tulin

Don’t give me cliché,
let the words flow
naturally from the
soul

You have a compelling voice
Trust it, It’s beautiful
without being contrived
or miming the other poets

Let your mind spill
the truth to the page
using your own words
genuine to the ear,
coming from the heart

Help the reader
See your vision—
The stillness of a lake,
the end of a winding road
or the swirling emotions
that paint your colorful sky

Love your self enough
to make your experience
come true.
