Gentle Waves

Nice gentle waves today,
don’t have to push too hard,
can take a moment
to breathe in a slow breath
as leisurely as the sun rises,
as sleepily as the Channel Islands
slumber in the distance

I can float on my board
and not worry about
catching a wave,
and daydream
here in the easy life
where time moves at a crawl
and we never grow old.
