Poem: Pallbearers by Mark Tulin

The pallbearers,
so gracious
in their strength.

They volunteer
to cover me
in a shroud of love
and protection,

to carry me
by rail,

lifting my spirits
above the ground
to the clouds,

moving me forward
into the next
domain
where there is a singular
hum,

and a white light
that shines brightly
in the peaceful universe
of adventurous souls
.

I am an author, poet, humorist, and short story writer from Palm Springs, California. I write about various topics, from my early childhood in Philadelphia to my years as a family therapist and finally to my soul-searching in California. These are poetic narratives that may have humorous or serious content or both. Either way, I hope my poetry and stories resonate with you.

  1. This is so beautiful and peaceful!

    • Thanks, Robbie. At a funeral lately, I got a different perspective because I wasn’t so emotionally attached to the deceased. I could witness the process more objectively.

  2. Mark, my first impression is the same. This is so graceful; so peaceful!! 🙂

  3. That,s what my Mom wanted Peace❤️❤️❤️❤️
