Tuesday’s Picture: Strange Neighbor

My neighbor is strange, I must admit,

he wears dark sunglasses and a rain jacket.

He seldom says hello, and when he does

he doesn’t open his mouth or smile,

img_2486just looks at you funny, sometimes even stares.

But I don’t say anything rude or unneighborly.

I give an obligatory wave, a nod of the head

and say

“I hope you have a good day,”

or “Looks like rain is coming our way.”

I figure it’s certainly his prerogative

to make small talk or greet me if he likes,

I’m not an obsessive follower of etiquette

or immune to bad manners myself.
